Have you ever wondered why people become so happy from funky and ecstatic music?
When we hear music we tend to start moving. We move on the beat or the melody and it makes us feel a certain way. Whenever we feel melancholic, sad music can do wonders to deepen the sad feeling. Until we had enough of the sadness and turn the music off. Usually our mood improves after 😉 On weddings or on funerals, the music is one of the most important ingredients for an successful event. On a party the DJ is the center of attention and a good DJ can alter the mood of the whole party. Many times after a concert we a joyful and free feeling. As if we are children again for a moment.
As you can see, music has a great influence on our well-being. It influences us on many emotional and mental levels. Also on a physical and energetic level it has a big influence on us. Music has the ability to change our moods. It can uplift us, it can bring us down, through music we can get in trance. Music can encourage us and it can motivate us to move forward or to dance. Simply said music has the ability to change our state of mind. It is therefore a wonderful tool to alter our reality into happy and joyful situations, without the use of any substance. In a world where nobody shows his true emotions, it is a real challenge when you are facing your own darkness. Traveling through your shadows to find this little piece of light inside of yourself, is a tiring job. The worst part is that nobody can do it for you. You know you have to go through this period on your own. The good news is that you are not alone and that there is a lot of help available.
Thank god for the shadow, for without it, I would burn in the light. This sentence came to me today while running in the park, while I observed the shadows of the trees.. I was amazed by it. I was very thankful for these shadows, because they kept me away from the hot sun. Suddenly I realised that this is also the case with our own shadow part. We could not handle the magnificent light, because it would be too bright for us to be exposed at once. Continue reading The Art of suffering
The profound life lessons we are learning are not so much written in words, nor can you find them in books. Although many have written about them in books. The wisest lessons we are learning, so that we can grow on a human level, are from the interaction with others. It is in the difficulty and in conflicting situations that we start to think about how things could be different. Only when life becomes uncomfortable, we start to invent these creative solutions. It is quite interesting to notice that when things seem ok, life seems to stagnate. The opposite is quite true. The feeling of ‘nothing ever happens in my life’ could be a trigger to make different choices again, so that things start to flow. After all, Why should you move if all is right? Pain is something we all feel and it is very real. Sometimes pain can be overwhelming. I’m not speaking about physical pain, but more the emotional/spiritual pain. As a human I find it a challenge to be open about my emotions. I find it a challenge to talk about the kind of pain i’m experiencing. I don’t always get the feeling that there is a place for emotions in our society. From a young age we were taught that we are supposed to stand tall and fight against our emotions. If you show them you are labeled as weak or soft, or you have ‘lost control’. When you do show your emotions in public, people think something horrible happened to you, because it is an exception to see someone expressing his or her emotions outside on the street. As a guy it is even more of a challenge, because the main idea about a man is that he needs to be a warrior, a fighter. It is this twisted concept that causes a big part of my pain as well. I want you to know that you are not alone. You are not helpless.
You might feel this way and that is oke.
I want you to know that with you there are many others who feel lost, who feel alone, isolated and misunderstood.
With you there are many others who question life, themselves, the status quo, society and existence on this earth.
I want you to know that you are being supported, once you allow to be supported.
I want you to know that you are loved, when you allow others to love you.
You are being understood once you understand yourself.
You are receiving answers whenever you find your peace inside the center of your body. Continue reading I want you to know
The idea that spirituality is only for a select group of people stems from very old ideas about who was able to serve god. These ideas are still imprinted into our consciousness. When we have a religious or spiritual problem we go to our priest, rabbi, imam, guru, shaman, psychologist, for a solution. You tell them your story and you expect that they will come with an suitable answer. This is what they have studied for. It is their job.
The middleman is supposed to be the translator, the communicator between you and the divine. And it is true. Some people are better in making the connection than others. Some people have this gift, while others have many other gifts. Thank god these people are here to help others. Thank god these humans exist and offer their help so that the symbolical, universal language becomes understandable in human language. When spirit communicates with us, it could be through metaphors, symbols and dreams, but also through thoughts, feelings and visions (and many many other ways). When you really need to receive a message, you will receive it through the channel that suits you most. Eventually you will understand the message.
